Bayern Munich's players were allowed to drink beer as they visited Oktoberfest on Sunday after scoring 20 goals in a week. Saturday's 5-0 cruise at Werder Bremen kept the Bavarians on top of the Bundesliga after four wins from four.

After thrashing Werder Bremen 5-0 in a Bundesliga clash on Saturday to continue their perfect season, Bayern Munich plan to celebrate with a trip to the Oktoberfest, head coach Vincent Kompany said.

Oktoberfest has opened in Munich after the ceremonial beer keg-tapping. Mayor Dieter Reiter officially started the 189th Oktoberfest at noon when he inserted the tap into the first keg.

The festival takes place in Munich every year, at Theresienwiese, a 100-acre fairground space in the city’s Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt district, near the Old Town. Believe it or not, Oktoberfest isn’t actually considered a beer festival in Germany – instead, it’s a folksy celebration popular among families as well as those after a stein or two.

The Oktoberfest began on September 21st and will continue till October 6th in Munich. This vibrant festival is mainly known for its food, music, and beer tents, attracting a massive audience every year.
