The Campbell County School Board unanimously passed their new cell phone Monday night during their regular meeting. Campbell County School Assistant Superintendent Dr. Amy Hale said the policy closely mirrors Governor Glenn Younkin's Executive Order 33.

Cell phones could be on the way out in Des Moines Public Schools. Hoover High School was the first school in the district with a ban, requiring students to store phones in their backpacks during class.

Using guidance from the Virginia Department of Education, the August County School Board will ban cell phones for students.

The Richmond City Public School Board unanimously approved a name change to its Acceptable Computer System Use Policy, meant to better reflect its cell phone-free educational goals.
