Aamir Khan and his ex-wife, Kiran Rao, who are currently celebrating the success of their latest release, 'Laapataa Ladies', have discussed the experience of working together post their divorce.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Aamir Khan was asked about his decision to quit films. Aamir revealed that when he broke the news to his ex-wife Kiran Rao, she burst out crying and said, “you are leaving us.” But Aamir explained to her that he is actually leaving films and will spend more time with his family.

When asked how Kiran Rao reacted to his big decision, Aamir said, "She asked me to come to the balcony to talk alone. She said, 'You are leaving us'. I said, 'No, I am not leaving you, I am leaving films'. She said, 'You are a child of cinema, and if you are leaving films, you are leaving us.'"

When the interviewer suggested that this list might be an exercise all husbands should take on, Aamir cheekily interjected: “Why husbands? Even wives! Isne mujhe nahi pooncha (She didn’t ask me), ‘How can I be a better wife?

Aamir Khan separated from his second wife, Kiran Rao, in 2021. Ever since then, they have been co-parenting their child, Azad. The actor has a busy schedule, and because of this, he cannot spend much time with his kids. However, Kiran has had her own set of challenges, managing her son. Kiran had revealed that Aamir had no idea about Azad's school.
