Any time is good depending on what type of experience you are looking for. We visited on a cold, gray fall day with intermittent misty rain - less than ideal. I actually find foggy days interesting as I am a photographer & like the mood it creates. TIP: Check tide charts for tide times. Low tide will give more beach to walk on & access to a cave at one end of the beach to view petroglyphs. You do not want to get trapped in the cave with the tide coming in!

Supposedly, it is requested that rocks not be taken from the beach. The day I was there, I saw a woman with a bag, collecting rocks. probably to use in the craft of painting sayings/quotes on them. I must admit I took one as it was a color other than gray granite type which is most of what covers the beach.
